Physical properties: Sodium hydroxide is a white translucent crystalline solid. Its aqueous solution is astringent and greasy.
Deliquescence: Easily deliquescence in air.
Water absorption: Solid alkali is very hygroscopic, exposed to air, absorb water molecules in the air, and eventually will be completely dissolved into a solution, but liquid sodium hydroxide has no hygroscopic property.
Solubility: Very soluble in water, dissolving a lot of heat. Soluble in ethanol and glycerol.
Uses: Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is extremely versatile. Used for paper making, soap, dye, rayon, aluminum, petroleum refining, cotton fabric finishing, coal tar product purification, and food processing, wood processing and machinery industry.

Transportation vehicles should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment during transportation.
